ASTERIAS

A young boy, Leo, awakens, lost in a world of Gods and man, as he tries to find his way home.

In doing so, he meets a quirky adventurer called Joe, who agrees to help him. Thus begins the adventure of this duo journeying in this strange and magical land. Along the way, they discover that they are being hunted by an unknown force, determined to stop them by any means necessary.

Asterias is a 2D animated TV show of fantasy, action and adventure, the artistic direction is inspired by the art style of studio Ghibli films and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Scripted, produced and animated by four Bachelor of Animation students, this trailer, a one minute and forty seconds traditionally-animated piece, seeks to act as a proof-of-concept animation to be pitched to the industry. The overall theme of the story speaks about finding where you belong when you don’t know who you are, and that sometimes, it’s about the journey, not the destination.
