Donovan Warren-Nevalagi

Donovan Warren-Nevalagi is a West Auckland based animator and illustrator who specialises in2D hand-drawn and symbol-based animation pipelines. His work is inspired by western artists like Lesean Thomas and Dev Maden and TV shows like “The Boondocks” and “Steven Universe”.

He’s also inspired by Japanese produced animation, such as “Naruto” and “Re: Zero”. He is always eager to learn more ways to improve his craft and explore new treatment styles. Donovan’s showreel project was to showcase what he had animated during the production ofhis group’s short film “Up The ANTe” and some concepts for his short film “Blob’s Journey”.

After finishing the level 6 Diploma of Animation, Donovan plans to continue his animation journey through self-study and contact with established New Zealand Animation Studios.
