Kelsey Neal
My name is Kelsey Ellen Montrose Neal, I was born in Auckland New Zealand 1999 and continue to live and work there to this day. I dream of eventually moving overseas to see more of the world and all of the exciting job opportunities that come with it.
I have always been an artist and enjoy exploring all kinds of different mediums for creating art as a way of expressing the vivid imagination and ideas living inside my head. I began with traditional art such as drawing, painting and sculpting, I then found an interest in SFX makeup artistry, but once I found courses available to learn about 3D production I decided to leap into this career path. I have always loved animation, film, and video games so I was very excited to learn what goes into it all while also being able to create my own work in the form of 3D models, textures, animation, etc.
Some of my influences include Disney, Pixar, and Studio Ghibli. One of my favourite animated films as a kid was Peter Pan Return to Neverland, which is a huge part of why I enjoy creating content similar to the whimsical and fantasy themes seen in films like this. I am also inspired by polar opposite genres such as horror, cyberpunk/futuristic themes, and certain Tim Burton films such as The Corpse Bride, Beetlejuice, and The Nightmare before Christmas. I hope that in future I am able to create a wide variation of content from all the different influences that inspire me.
I have completed 3 years of courses at Yoobee Colleges: Diploma for Level 5 Animation and Film Production, Diploma for Level 6 3D Production, and Diploma for Level 7 Advanced 3D Production.
